FourTet: 0181

Después del lanzamiento de Pink, su colección de sencillos editada el año pasado, Kieren Hebden anunció hoy el lanzamiento de 0181, su disco de rarezas. En este álbum podemos encontrar canciones grabadas entre los años 1997 y 2001. El día de hoy, a través de su página de Facebook, Four Tet anunció que 0181 saldrá con su disquera Text en vinilo en algún punto de este año, por ahora pueden escuchar y descargar este disco como un sólotrack a través de su soundcloud…

How to Destroy Angels

Amigos, parece que ya no hay más Nine Inch Nails. Primero su vocalista se dedicó por demasiado tiempo a hacer solo soundtracks para peliculas, y ahora tenemos además un proyecto llamado “How to destroy angels”, que es un grupo formado por Trent Reznor y su esposa Yoko Ono.
Perdón su nombre es Mariqueen Maandig, pero no me aguantaba las ganas de hacer la comparación , )
Va la liga a su SoundCloud para que vean el tipo de canciones que hacen, la propuesta es mucho más relajada que lo que NIN nos tenía acostumbrados. Ni modo, todo por servir se acaba…

Trent Reznor’s new band How to Destroy Angels makes really dark, madness-fueled music, filled with dense sonic layers and interwoven vocals by the Nine Inch Nails leader and his wife, Mariqueen Maandig. Basically, it’s the kind of music that should be remixed by someone from experimental outfit TV on the Radio.

Luckily just such a remix exists: TV on the Radio‘s Dave Sitek has put his own distorted twist on How to Destroy Angels’ latest single, “Keep It Together,” from the group’s upcoming An Omen EP.

The remix, premiered below, is a cool, dare we say (slightly) more upbeat, interpretation of the track. But ask Sitek how he feels about his spin on the song, and the answer is likely to sound as mysterious as the track itself.

“A chance to be pushed through the veins and swarm the heart,” Sitek said in an e-mail to Wired. “Saddled to this strange drug music … a wild trip…. I was lucky to be asked.”…

Mono: Dream odyssey

Primero me emocioné pensando que era el regreso de esa famosa banda inglesa que con un solo LP fué un ícono de la música de los 90, y después me acabó gustando tambien conocer esto.

Existen dos bandas con el mismo nombre, la de UK y esta otra de Japón. Lo curioso es que las 2 son casi del mismo estilo. E igual de buenas.
Ya entrados en detalles, una tiende mas hacia el shoegaze experimental, y la otra hacia el tri-hop. Pero insisto, el estilo de musica etérea podría hacer que más de uno las confundiera…

La banda japonesa Mono estrenó el primer sencillo de su álbum For My Parents, el cual saldrá a la venta el próximo 4 de septiembre a través de su disquera de toda la vida,Temporary Residence. En este álbum grabaron con la Wordless Music Orchestra, misma que fue su orquesta durante los conciertos en Nueva York que formaron parte del álbum y DVD en vivo Holy Ground; editado para celebrar su décimo aniversario.

La canción de ocho minutos navega entre paisajes lentos, calmados y estruendosos, llenos de ruido; el sello de la casa…

Los cuatro integrantes de Django Django son originarios de Edimburgo aunque en la actualidad están instalados en Londres. Como anécdota, uno de sus miembros, el batería David Maclean, es hermano del teclista de The Beta Band, banda disuelta en 2004 dejándonos tres discos que nunca llegaron a alcanzar el éxito comercial que se merecían, al menos hoy se les considera una banda de culto. Esperemos que no les ocurra lo mismo a estos…

I’ll be your mirror

Mixtape intenso… muy intenso. Obscuro, como todo lo que hace Portishead. Cuidado con el horario y estado de ánimo en el que se escuche…

Como banda anfitriona del festival I’ll Be Your Mirror, que se realizó los días 23 y 24 de julio en Inglaterra, Portishead estrenó un mixtape de descarga gratuita que incluye canciones de varios artistas del certamen.

PJ Harvey, Grinderman, Beach House y Caribou, entre otros, son los nombres cuyos temas forman parte de esta colección de casi 2 horas, contenida en un solo track que se puede bajar desde Soundcloud…
